I have to admit I LOVE macaroni and cheese (as you can tell from my blog's name and image) but there are other things I like which are fattening...like almost every fried thing imaginable! How about you?

I'm always up for a thick cut prime rib with lots of marbling (fat) cooked rare, with a baked potato smothered in butter, sour cream, chives and covered with sauted mushrooms, with buttered brocoli. Dessert would be either real key lime pie or raspberry swirl cheese cake.
Oh, yes, Joe! And I love the part they call the LIFTER...that tremendously tender approx 1" piece that wraps the prime rib.. .you know?...sort of surrounds the regular prime rib slice? mmm And yes, baked potato, sour cream, butter and chives.........and I like green beans with almonds with that!mmm OH, and some horse radish sauce.
Z - When you mentioned 'lifter,' it reminded me of 'hanger steak.' We had it once and the restaurant owner told us that it is so good and tender that butchers often keep it just for themselves.
Homemade tortellini stuffed with a mixture of Ricotta and Romano cheeses, minced truffles and finely chopped fresh parsley, smothered in rich Alfredo sauce laced with shrimp, backfin crabmeat and bay scallops previously sauteed in butter with a clove of finely minced garlic, salt and pepper and a splash of dry Vermouth.
Accompany that with a loaf of good crusty French or Italian bread and butter, green beans sauteed in olive oil and garlic with a little homemade Marinara sauce, and a salad of mixed baby field greens dressed with balsamic vinaigrette.
Finish up with frozen homemade Zabaglione garnished with a compote of ripe red raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries, top with whipped cream, serve with biscotti or homemade macaroons, and prepare to die happy.
Sue, I have heard of that but probably never ate it....I wonder if it's similar to the lifter; do you know what I mean by that? ..that incredibly tender approximately 1" piece that kind of wraps a piece of prime rib. I don't even like prime rib in the middle...no matter how beautifully prepared it is, it never seems tender enough to me so I drown it in horseradish/sour cream sauce :-) Mom made it with the bones on and I did like that tender meat that was still on the bones after it was carved.

A very tender steak fried in butter and sprinkled with S&P....divine, and I NEVER order steaks in restaurants and RARELY make it at home because I'm not that into it...but sauteed in butter? Crispy on the outside, pink on the inside? Baked potato, sour cream, butter and chives, and string beans with slivered almonds? TIE ME DOWN :-)
1 medium eggplant 2 beaten eggs 1/2 sick butter (no substitutes) 1 cup plain bread crumbs (I use generic) 1 bell pepper 1 large onion (optional) 2 cans cream-style corn 1 cup grated cheese (I used cheddar) 1/2 cup grated cheese (for top) salt and pepper to taste
Pare and cut eggplant into cubes; cook in boiling water for 10 minutes. Drain and add all ingredients, except 1/2 cup cheese. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Add 1/2 cup of cheese to top the last five minutes.

As much as I like mac & cheese, I think if I had to pick one favorite food it would have to be New York cheesecake. I can't be trusted around one.

It has lots of cheese, bread crumbs, but I actually boil the eggplants so they get all mushy.
If you like I can give you the recipe. Actually, if you have heard of Wyatt's Cafeteria it's their recipe. I found it in a cookbook.

2 beaten eggs
1/2 sick butter (no substitutes)
1 cup plain bread crumbs (I use generic)
1 bell pepper
1 large onion (optional)
2 cans cream-style corn
1 cup grated cheese (I used cheddar)
1/2 cup grated cheese (for top)
salt and pepper to taste
Pare and cut eggplant into cubes; cook in boiling water for 10 minutes. Drain and add all ingredients, except 1/2 cup cheese.
Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour. Add 1/2 cup of cheese to top the last five minutes.
