Thanksgiving 2014 at Z's family's celebration

I've posted some of these over the years and get happy reactions so I thought I'd do it again.
Please feel free to tell me about your Thanksgiving dinners...any new and wonderful dishes?  Any tried-and-true specialties you can share?  Thanks!
Appetizers....salamis, stuffed grape leaves, string cheese, humus, feta cheese, breads, kalamata olives..mmmm  Served with lovely spirits from the bar, of course, highlighted by the Nouveau Beajolais this year....which was a darn sight better than last year's crop!
Roasted turkey, string beans with very thin julienned lemon rind, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cran sauce, stuffing ...and excellent savory parmesan bread pudding!   (You will note the absence of macaroni and cheese......I guess some hostesses just don't share my enthusiasm!)
pumpkin pie in chocolate crust and whipped cream, apple pie, and the most delicious chocolate/butterscotch triangles ....with coffee, of course!

I have to admit the stuffing was too 'loose' for my taste, as were the mashed potatoes, but it was all SO DELICIOUS anyway!
I hope you all enjoyed your dinners, too.
I'm thankful for so much, including very GOOD FOOD!

We had a lovely dinner with my brother and sister-in-law and family. I remarked how her beautiful layout reminded me of your memorable TD pics.

It was quite a feast for 6 people - probably would have fed half your crowd. Turkey, cornbread pudding, rice stuffing, kale salad, brussel sprouts, sauteed summer veggies, raw cranberry relish, mashed potatoes, Mr. B's homemade wine and (on our side of the table) our homemade kimchee. We take it everywhere (yes, I even bring it into restaurants. No one knows until you open the lid!).

I've never cared for TD desserts and used to beg mom for lemon meringue pie (well, that's when lemons ARE on in So Cal, but us tart food fans have to wait for Washington's birthday). As a kid I scraped the pumpkin custard out and ate the crust with whipped cream. Poor Mr. B who LOVES them got his wish. On the other hand, had I known about the chocolate butterscotch triangles at YOUR place, I would have been right over! :)

New recipes: this reminds me, I still owe you the cauliflower rice recipe, which I almost made but we had too much food already.

Glad you had such good food, too!
I took my post down because I've always felt a little funny about posting these dinners...but I get emails about it, so...anyway, thanks for commenting.
Am going to friends tonight who've invited me for leftover Thanksgiving and am looking forward to THAT!!

I LOVE pumpkin pie, etc., but you're right...the triangles are INCREDIBLE.

glad you enjoyed your day.

Couscous with winter vegetables and a tangy vinaigrette dressing would have been decent, too.

THanks, Joe! Glad you came by!
I actually had another Thanskgiving, of leftovers, with a med student and art teacher friends of mine the next night; it compared so well to the elaborate 'best caterer in Bev Hills' my Thanksgiving was created by, ..well, there's nothing like friends who put a lot of effort into a dinner and who might not have the many hundreds of dollars Thursday took, but it was absolutely AT LEAST as wonderful! Delicious, and such warm friendship; that's the most important thing
